Narrative:

I was the first officer of flight from rsw tpa lga syr aboard an medium large transport. We parked on the centerline of gate at lga. I left the airplane shortly after arrival. There were 3 flight attendants on board and approximately 12 through passengers. At approximately xx a fuel truck stuck the right wing tip from the rear side of the aircraft. The aircraft had not been moved since being chocked at arrival. There were no apparent injuries to those on or around the aircraft. The aircraft was determined to be unsafe for flight by our mechanics and remained in lga for repair. Since I did not witness the incident, I can not say why this happened. I do not see any reason for the impact other than too close of proximity between the truck and aircraft. On numerous past occasions I have fuel trucks traveling at fast speeds in the close proximity of our aircraft at this airport and I am not surprised by this incident at all.
