26L and right approachs den -- advised not to go below 170 KIAS and not to pass the small transport who was less than 2 mi in front of me. I had a 20 KIAS closure. I told approach I had to slow. I did and was taken out of the pattern for non compliance of airspeed.

Narrative: 26L AND R APCHS DEN -- ADVISED NOT TO GO BELOW 170 KIAS AND NOT TO PASS THE SMT WHO WAS LESS THAN 2 MI IN FRONT OF ME. I HAD A 20 KIAS CLOSURE. I TOLD APCH I HAD TO SLOW. I DID AND WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE PATTERN FOR NON COMPLIANCE OF AIRSPD.
