Narrative:
Our flight was cleared to taxi for takeoff. Our initial clearance was to taxi to runway 30, hold short at J. As we taxied down C, we were cleared to cross runway 30 at J (portions of taxiway left were closed which necessitated a runway 30 crossing and a subsequent taxi down D). We saw an aircraft at the departure end of runway 30 that appeared to be holding in position waiting for our flight to cross. As we taxied into the intersection of runway 30, we noticed the airplane at the departure end of 30 was moving. The aircraft then aborted the takeoff. It appears as though the aircraft was cleared for takeoff while our flight was crossing the runway. It appears as if there was a breakdown in coordination between tower and ground control. The ground controller cleared our flight to cross the runway apparently unaware that tower had cleared another aircraft for takeoff. The ground controller had asked for a quick runway crossing but had only referenced an aircraft on final, not a departing aircraft.

Title: ATCT GND CTLR CLRED AN ACR MLG TO CROSS THE ACTIVE RWY AS ANOTHER ACFT WAS STARTING TKOF ROLL.
Narrative: OUR FLT WAS CLRED TO TAXI FOR TKOF. OUR INITIAL CLRNC WAS TO TAXI TO RWY 30, HOLD SHORT AT J. AS WE TAXIED DOWN C, WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS RWY 30 AT J (PORTIONS OF TAXIWAY L WERE CLOSED WHICH NECESSITATED A RWY 30 XING AND A SUBSEQUENT TAXI DOWN D). WE SAW AN ACFT AT THE DEP END OF RWY 30 THAT APPEARED TO BE HOLDING IN POS WAITING FOR OUR FLT TO CROSS. AS WE TAXIED INTO THE INTXN OF RWY 30, WE NOTICED THE AIRPLANE AT THE DEP END OF 30 WAS MOVING. THE ACFT THEN ABORTED THE TKOF. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE ACFT WAS CLRED FOR TKOF WHILE OUR FLT WAS XING THE RWY. IT APPEARS AS IF THERE WAS A BREAKDOWN IN COORD BTWN TWR AND GND CTL. THE GND CTLR CLRED OUR FLT TO CROSS THE RWY APPARENTLY UNAWARE THAT TWR HAD CLRED ANOTHER ACFT FOR TKOF. THE GND CTLR HAD ASKED FOR A QUICK RWY XING BUT HAD ONLY REFED AN ACFT ON FINAL, NOT A DEPARTING ACFT.
