Narrative:
Level at 14000 ft going into san, controller pointed out traffic 3 times. Didn't see it. TCASII went off commanding a 1200 ft climb. Responded, then saw aircraft, deviated +500 off assigned altitude estimated missing aircraft by 500 ft. Filing report because I don't trust or believe FAA won't try to violate us due to leaving assigned altitude.

Title: ACR MLG ALTDEV EXCURSION FROM CLRNC ALT IN RESPONSE TO TCASII RA.
Narrative: LEVEL AT 14000 FT GOING INTO SAN, CTLR POINTED OUT TFC 3 TIMES. DIDN'T SEE IT. TCASII WENT OFF COMMANDING A 1200 FT CLB. RESPONDED, THEN SAW ACFT, DEVIATED +500 OFF ASSIGNED ALT ESTIMATED MISSING ACFT BY 500 FT. FILING RPT BECAUSE I DON'T TRUST OR BELIEVE FAA WON'T TRY TO VIOLATE US DUE TO LEAVING ASSIGNED ALT.
