Narrative:
Preparing to takeoff from runway 35. As the captain, who was flying, started to bring up the power and released the brakes, I spotted a small bizjet cross runway 35 at intersection 'a' from left to right. I called for the captain to abort the takeoff, which he did without incident, since we had just begun our roll. The incurring aircraft crossed the runway 500 ft in front of us. I called tower immediately and confirmed that we were cleared for takeoff. Tower confirmed the same. I then said to tower that we had a runway incursion at intersection 'a' by a small jet. Tower rogered that and cleared us to takeoff again. At no time during the report of this incident did tower cancel our takeoff clearance. That bothers me. They (tower) said ground control was talking with the bizjet about the incursion. We talked with controller of phl TRACON after we landed at bgm.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: BIZJET AIR TAXI CROSSED ACTIVE RWY, NIGHT OP, AS COMMUTER STARTED TKOF. TKOF ABORTED.
Narrative: PREPARING TO TKOF FROM RWY 35. AS THE CAPT, WHO WAS FLYING, STARTED TO BRING UP THE PWR AND RELEASED THE BRAKES, I SPOTTED A SMALL BIZJET CROSS RWY 35 AT INTXN 'A' FROM L TO R. I CALLED FOR THE CAPT TO ABORT THE TKOF, WHICH HE DID WITHOUT INCIDENT, SINCE WE HAD JUST BEGUN OUR ROLL. THE INCURRING ACFT CROSSED THE RWY 500 FT IN FRONT OF US. I CALLED TWR IMMEDIATELY AND CONFIRMED THAT WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. TWR CONFIRMED THE SAME. I THEN SAID TO TWR THAT WE HAD A RWY INCURSION AT INTXN 'A' BY A SMALL JET. TWR ROGERED THAT AND CLRED US TO TKOF AGAIN. AT NO TIME DURING THE RPT OF THIS INCIDENT DID TWR CANCEL OUR TKOF CLRNC. THAT BOTHERS ME. THEY (TWR) SAID GND CTL WAS TALKING WITH THE BIZJET ABOUT THE INCURSION. WE TALKED WITH CTLR OF PHL TRACON AFTER WE LANDED AT BGM.
