Narrative:
On landing at logan on runway 27 tower advised rollout to last taxiway. Approaching the last 1000 ft it appeared that we should turn right on a large taxiway but in doing so we realized large obstructions closing it. There was a row of unlighted lights and what appeared to be an unlighted X on a trailer. (Tower sent the ground services people out to turn lights back on.) foreign air carrier was on final and was sent around by ATC. Tower told us initially to make a 180 degree if we could and taxi down runway 23 to the very end but quickly changed its mind when discussing what to do with foreign air carrier (it was at this point air carrier was given a go around). At no time were we on the runway and awaited further instructions before proceeding. Taxiway X was notamed out but it was obscured at night and was a real trap without the lights warning of a closure.
