Narrative:
The first officer was flying on a SID from balance. Neither of us realized our company filed plan specified a SID. Our clearance was 'as filed.' we assumed runway heading for vectors and consequently failed to turn to a heading at 3 DME as called for in the SID with vectors not good checking either with tower controller or each other.
