Narrative:

While parked abeam gate xy between B and C concourses, another medium large transport pushed off of gate xy. It was reported to us by ramp control that the tail of the medium large transport brushed our tail. We returned to our gate for a maintenance inspection of our tail. The parking brakes were set and the aircraft (ours) was stationary at the time of the incident. Supplemental information from acn 199257: from aircraft Y captain. While on routine pushback, ground crew accidentally pushed aircraft into an aircraft that was directly behind us. Contact was made by both horizontal stabilizers. From both pilot seats, it was physically impossible to view aircraft behind. Ground crew judgement was in question. Proper action was taken after contact was made.
