Narrative:
On the scurry arrival into dfw, (surry 296 degree radial 33 DME 11000 ft MSL altitude 30.12 210 KTS IAS). We received a TCASII resolution to 'climb, climb.' traffic on TCASII indicated approximately 1 mi 12 O'clock position 700 ft below us and climbing. We initiated an immediate climb. At the same time I called approach and asked if he showed any traffic for us. He said we had traffic below us a thousand ft (we did not see the traffic visually). At 11200 ft the resolution ceased and we returned to 11000 ft never getting higher then 11250 ft. We never had a TCASII advisory ie, 'traffic, traffic' before we received the resolution to 'climb'. Approach gave us a frequency change so we never had a chance to discuss the situation with him. Our TCASII was operating normally previous to this occurrence and continued to do so. Opinion: the aircraft below us may have overshot his assigned altitude causing the resolution or the TCASII indication was a false one.

Title: ACR HAS TCASII RA. RESPONDS WITH CLB.
Narrative: ON THE SCURRY ARR INTO DFW, (SURRY 296 DEG RADIAL 33 DME 11000 FT MSL ALT 30.12 210 KTS IAS). WE RECEIVED A TCASII RESOLUTION TO 'CLB, CLB.' TFC ON TCASII INDICATED APPROX 1 MI 12 O'CLOCK POS 700 FT BELOW US AND CLBING. WE INITIATED AN IMMEDIATE CLB. AT THE SAME TIME I CALLED APCH AND ASKED IF HE SHOWED ANY TFC FOR US. HE SAID WE HAD TFC BELOW US A THOUSAND FT (WE DID NOT SEE THE TFC VISUALLY). AT 11200 FT THE RESOLUTION CEASED AND WE RETURNED TO 11000 FT NEVER GETTING HIGHER THEN 11250 FT. WE NEVER HAD A TCASII ADVISORY IE, 'TFC, TFC' BEFORE WE RECEIVED THE RESOLUTION TO 'CLB'. APCH GAVE US A FREQ CHANGE SO WE NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO DISCUSS THE SITUATION WITH HIM. OUR TCASII WAS OPERATING NORMALLY PREVIOUS TO THIS OCCURRENCE AND CONTINUED TO DO SO. OPINION: THE ACFT BELOW US MAY HAVE OVERSHOT HIS ASSIGNED ALT CAUSING THE RESOLUTION OR THE TCASII INDICATION WAS A FALSE ONE.
