Narrative:
WX mins deteriorated below landing mins prescribed for the ILS 30L at sjc after we were established on the approach and due to lack of crew communication and lack of understanding of rules and terminology we landed in violation of far 135.225, which was determined after landing by seeking guidance from company line check captain. When arriving at decision height on the approach we saw runway lights and runway.
