Narrative:
Level at 3000 ft being vectored for visual at fll. Mia approach had given vectors around numerous VFR targets. ATC called VFR traffic 12 O'clock opposite direction 4(?) mi, and gave us left 20 degree turn around traffic. We did not have traffic in sight. On rolling out of turn I called traffic at 2 O'clock turning into us. We immediately descended to 2500 ft, traffic passed directly overhead. Supplemental information from acn 200596: the controller was not communicating. The light aircraft was operating VFR at approach altitudes in the normal approach pattern and probably never even saw us.

Title: NMAC.
Narrative: LEVEL AT 3000 FT BEING VECTORED FOR VISUAL AT FLL. MIA APCH HAD GIVEN VECTORS AROUND NUMEROUS VFR TARGETS. ATC CALLED VFR TFC 12 O'CLOCK OPPOSITE DIRECTION 4(?) MI, AND GAVE US L 20 DEG TURN AROUND TFC. WE DID NOT HAVE TFC IN SIGHT. ON ROLLING OUT OF TURN I CALLED TFC AT 2 O'CLOCK TURNING INTO US. WE IMMEDIATELY DSNDED TO 2500 FT, TFC PASSED DIRECTLY OVERHEAD. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 200596: THE CTLR WAS NOT COMMUNICATING. THE LIGHT ACFT WAS OPERATING VFR AT APCH ALTS IN THE NORMAL APCH PATTERN AND PROBABLY NEVER EVEN SAW US.
