Narrative:
Shooting ILS runway 11 oakland international but still on assigned heading and not cleared for approach yet, under approach control. Held at approximately 4000 ft MSL until alcat (10.8 NM from oakland VOR) and was then cleared ILS runway 11. We were unable to make plaza crossing restriction of 1800 ft (we were approximately 2500 ft MSL.) were told to slow due to aircraft in front of us. Subsequently had to perform a go around due to insufficient spacing. Landed with no further incident. Poor situational awareness on approach controls part. Supplemental information from acn 202185: the identify of the radial comes real quick since it is off a radial from sfo VOR. I did not advise approach we did not make the restrictions.

Title: ALTDEV ALT CROSSING RESTRICTION NOT MADE.
Narrative: SHOOTING ILS RWY 11 OAKLAND INTL BUT STILL ON ASSIGNED HDG AND NOT CLRED FOR APCH YET, UNDER APCH CTL. HELD AT APPROX 4000 FT MSL UNTIL ALCAT (10.8 NM FROM OAKLAND VOR) AND WAS THEN CLRED ILS RWY 11. WE WERE UNABLE TO MAKE PLAZA XING RESTRICTION OF 1800 FT (WE WERE APPROX 2500 FT MSL.)
