Narrative:
Air carrier X clearance was as follows. Cleared to mco fly runway heading climb and maintain 4000 ft. On climb out off of runway 27 departure control told us to maintain 2500 ft. When received we were already 2800 ft going up a 1500 FPM. Level off put us at 3000 ft prior to starting our descent. The next response from ATC was TA. Traffic at 3000 ft 12 O'clock 1/2 mi take evasive action turn right to 180 degree. He wanted us to make a right turn to south. We knew what he meant and I pushed the nose over and turned left to 180 degree. We spotted the small aircraft Y at our 1 O'clock about 200 ft above us in about an 80 degree bank turn to the right. We were approaching him from behind. They do lots of training at patrick and with several flight schools in the area it can be an interesting place to fly.
