Narrative:

Flying at 11000 ft on blue ridge 230 degree radial at approximately 30 DME, 230 KTS, dfw approach control said traffic at 1 O'clock low. We looked and could not find him visually. At that time we received a TA on TCASII, followed by an RA. Still could not see him. The first officer was flying. I instructed him to follow the TCASII, which he did. I told the controller we had an RA and were leaving 11000 ft. Did not seem to have any conflict with other traffic. The controller said we climbed to 11600 ft. I thought we went to 11400 ft. Continued the flight with no further problems.
