Narrative:
The original flight plan for the flight was filed for a route of: sjn 112.3 direct to cim 116.4. The pre-departure clearance (pre departure clearance) was received with the filed clearance on it and further down a change of route to show: sjn 112.3 to abq 113.2 to cim 116.4 the flight read and followed the filed clearance. After passing over sjn the flight crew proceeded direct to cim and was questioned by ATC and eventually cleared directly to cim. To prevent a recurrence of this a way of emphasizing changes on pre departure clearance would help. Supplemental information from acn 207364. Received pre departure clearance late (at push time) and attached to another report (final WX or weight and balance). The report had the ATC clearance printed at the perforation in the paper. Just below was the filed clearance. Read filed clearance vice ATC.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR LGT FLC FLIES FILED INSTEAD OF CLRED ROUTING AND EXPERIENCES A TRACK DEV.
Narrative: THE ORIGINAL FLT PLAN FOR THE FLT WAS FILED FOR A RTE OF: SJN 112.3 DIRECT TO CIM 116.4. THE PRE-DEP CLRNC (PDC) WAS RECEIVED WITH THE FILED CLRNC ON IT AND FURTHER DOWN A CHANGE OF RTE TO SHOW: SJN 112.3 TO ABQ 113.2 TO CIM 116.4 THE FLT READ AND FOLLOWED THE FILED CLRNC. AFTER PASSING OVER SJN THE FLC PROCEEDED DIRECT TO CIM AND WAS QUESTIONED BY ATC AND EVENTUALLY CLRED DIRECTLY TO CIM. TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE OF THIS A WAY OF EMPHASIZING CHANGES ON PDC WOULD HELP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 207364. RECEIVED PDC LATE (AT PUSH TIME) AND ATTACHED TO ANOTHER RPT (FINAL WX OR WT AND BAL). THE RPT HAD THE ATC CLRNC PRINTED AT THE PERFORATION IN THE PAPER. JUST BELOW WAS THE FILED CLRNC. READ FILED CLRNC VICE ATC.
