Narrative:
IFR flight plan to a visual landing slc, ut. Was cleared for a visual approach by approach control and to contact tower on 119.05. We were #2 on approach about 3 mi behind an large transport. I dialed in the wrong frequency, 119.5, and called tower. We were about 4 mi out on a visual. Mentally, I heard a reply 'cleared to land.' my copilot asked if we were cleared to land and I replied 'yes.' at about 100 ft he remarked 'it sure is quiet.' I double checked the frequency at that point and discovered I was on the wrong frequency. We were now flaring for landing so we landed uneventfully. I called the tower on rollout and they cleared us off the runway. Ground control inquired 'did we have a landing clearance?' my reply, 'negative.' I called slc control tower from company operations. They said at that point they did not intend to take any punitive action, but were concerned if their procedures had broken down. They also informed me that they had protected the runway for us from the OM inbound. This was the fourth day of a 4 day trip and perhaps some fatigue was a factor. It was a clear day and there was a slight concern about the aircraft ahead clearing the runway while we were on short final. In any event, I must make sure I get the correct frequency and make sure I get a real reply and clearance for landing and all other situations.

Title: AN ACR MLG LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC AS THEY WERE ON THE WRONG RADIO FREQ, 119.5 VICE 119.05.
Narrative: IFR FLT PLAN TO A VISUAL LNDG SLC, UT. WAS CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH BY APCH CTL AND TO CONTACT TWR ON 119.05. WE WERE #2 ON APCH ABOUT 3 MI BEHIND AN LGT. I DIALED IN THE WRONG FREQ, 119.5, AND CALLED TWR. WE WERE ABOUT 4 MI OUT ON A VISUAL. MENTALLY, I HEARD A REPLY 'CLRED TO LAND.' MY COPLT ASKED IF WE WERE CLRED TO LAND AND I REPLIED 'YES.' AT ABOUT 100 FT HE REMARKED 'IT SURE IS QUIET.' I DOUBLE CHKED THE FREQ AT THAT POINT AND DISCOVERED I WAS ON THE WRONG FREQ. WE WERE NOW FLARING FOR LNDG SO WE LANDED UNEVENTFULLY. I CALLED THE TWR ON ROLLOUT AND THEY CLRED US OFF THE RWY. GND CTL INQUIRED 'DID WE HAVE A LNDG CLRNC?' MY REPLY, 'NEGATIVE.' I CALLED SLC CTL TWR FROM COMPANY OPS. THEY SAID AT THAT POINT THEY DID NOT INTEND TO TAKE ANY PUNITIVE ACTION, BUT WERE CONCERNED IF THEIR PROCS HAD BROKEN DOWN. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD PROTECTED THE RWY FOR US FROM THE OM INBOUND. THIS WAS THE FOURTH DAY OF A 4 DAY TRIP AND PERHAPS SOME FATIGUE WAS A FACTOR. IT WAS A CLR DAY AND THERE WAS A SLIGHT CONCERN ABOUT THE ACFT AHEAD CLRING THE RWY WHILE WE WERE ON SHORT FINAL. IN ANY EVENT, I MUST MAKE SURE I GET THE CORRECT FREQ AND MAKE SURE I GET A REAL REPLY AND CLRNC FOR LNDG AND ALL OTHER SITUATIONS.
