Narrative:
Departing sea for atl. Copilot listened to ATIS and got ATC clearance. After pushback ground told us to taxi to 16L for takeoff. No taxi route specified. Got part way up taxiway 'B' when ground said that north end of 'B' was closed. Had to make 180 degree turn -- taxi south -- and then transition to taxiway 'a' to takeoff end of 16L. All this was done with no problems but not very professional. Copilot then remembered that ATIS had mentioned north end of 'B' being closed. I had checked NOTAMS for sea -- nothing about closed taxiway B -- but depended on copilot to listen to ATIS. Moral of story - - you want it done right, do it yourself. Don't depend on anyone else.
