Narrative:
ZMA was vectoring us for descent into miami international. Center cleared us direct to collier county, collier 3 arrival. We set up lee county VOR instead. Center even asked us to verify the navigation fix we were headed for. The second time center asked for verification we caught the mistake. Having 2 VOR's with 2 word names, the second name of each VOR being the same, on the same arrival is a hazard. In a busy situation, frequently the last word heard in a clearance predominates in memory. Suggest NASA recommend collier county or lee county VOR be renamed. Supplemental information from acn 214878. Due to WX and traffic saturation, some confusion regarding whether we were cleared direct to lee county VOR or collier county VOR, we were given vectors to reintercept the arrival toward biscayne VOR. (We were roughly between the 2 VOR's).
