Narrative:

I was on my first IOE on the medium large transport coming from an large transport first officer seat (3 man). During taxi, I was working company load planning and captain was on ground. I did not immediately switch to ground and inadvertently pulled communication 1 toggle switch down on captain's side while setting mac 1.2 flap setting on captain's side. Consequently, we were incommunicado with ground for a few mins. When we realized and switched on, ground said 'stop.' at not time was our position while taxiing in an unsafe condition. My newness to 2-MAN cockpit and my new duties as an first officer of a 2-MAN aircraft was a factor.
