Narrative:
I unknowingly switched frequency in the radio in use to the previous frequency. I was unaware of this until I contacted ZBW for a lower altitude. At that time they gave me the correct frequency and I contacted them and proceeded to pwn. At no time was there a conflict with another aircraft and none was reported by ATC.
