Narrative:
After flap retraction, the #3 slat (large transport aircraft) reextended itself with the flap handle in the up position. This occurred once more in the air and once on the ground prior to having the actuator replaced. Once the actuator was replaced, all system worked normally. Actuator should be inspected periodically or replaced to prevent this from happening at high altitude.

Title: ACR LGT ACFT WING SLAT MALFUNCTION.
Narrative: AFTER FLAP RETRACTION, THE #3 SLAT (LGT ACFT) REEXTENDED ITSELF WITH THE FLAP HANDLE IN THE UP POS. THIS OCCURRED ONCE MORE IN THE AIR AND ONCE ON THE GND PRIOR TO HAVING THE ACTUATOR REPLACED. ONCE THE ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED, ALL SYS WORKED NORMALLY. ACTUATOR SHOULD BE INSPECTED PERIODICALLY OR REPLACED TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AT HIGH ALT.
