Narrative:

This was a student training flight, introduction to night flight with a student pilot. We already had completed 4 lndgs to a full stop. While on the fifth, approximately 300 ft AGL off the departure end of 13 runway at huf, the small transport throttle cable broke, power reduced to about 1300 RPM and locked on at 1300 RPM. I took control of the aircraft, called the tower and declared an emergency. I circled around to runway 23. Maintaining 65 KTS glide speed, but unable to maintain altitude. Tower vectored the other aircraft out of the pattern and scrambled the fire and rescue. I made it to runway 23 and had to kill the engine with mixture cutoff. The crash and rescue team arrived at the aircraft, checked it over and noted all information of the flight. I feel I made the correct decision. No one was injured, and the aircraft suffered no damage.
