Narrative:
While in cruise on a sightseeing flight, a passenger in the rear noticed another small aircraft Y following our aircraft. The small aircraft Y was in the 5 O'clock position at a range of 1000 ft. When the other aircraft was pointed out to the pilot, evasive action was taken by turning away from the aircraft. At this time, the small aircraft Y proceeded to turn in the same direction, but descended below our aircraft, then abruptly pitched nose up to cross directly in front of our flight path. After crossing our flight path, the aircraft Y left the area wbound. There was no apparent reason for this reckless operation, other than possible 'showing off.' the incident was reported to vny FSDO immediately after the flight.
