After landing in larado, I was instructed to continue taxi for an exit near the end of 17R. After taxi to the 5000 ft mark, the nose gear collapsed due to mechanical failure of the locking mechanism.

Title: SMA HAS NOSE GEAR COLLAPSE ON ROLLOUT AFTER LNDG.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG IN LARADO, I WAS INSTRUCTED TO CONTINUE TAXI FOR AN EXIT NEAR THE END OF 17R. AFTER TAXI TO THE 5000 FT MARK, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURE OF THE LOCKING MECHANISM.
