Narrative:

I was flying a straight-in approach to runway 29L per ATC instructions and normal airport procedure. At about the 4 mi out point, I was 'cleared to land' in my small aircraft. After normal speed reductions flap extensions, and completion of checklists items (ie, fuel pump, landing light, etc), I was inside the airport boundary, about 300 ft AGL, when an all-white helicopter appeared my 2 O'clock position, preceding sbound across the approach thresholds of both runways 29L and 29R. About 50-100 yds separate us. I increased my descent rate slightly, and preceded to a normal landing. After turning on to the high speed taxiway off 29L, and inquired to the tower (124.00) about where the helicopter came from (there was no ATC conversation to the helicopter on 124.0). ATC response was that it was 'pilot error' on the helicopter part, and that he was cleared to the north pad, which is adjacent north of runway 29R. The helicopter was actually flying to the south pad, located on the left side of runway 29L. The north pad and runway 29R was utilizing a different ATC frequency of 135.6.

Title: AN SMA FIXED WING AND AN SMA HELI HAD AN NMAC IN THE TFC PATTERN.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING A STRAIGHT-IN APCH TO RWY 29L PER ATC INSTRUCTIONS AND NORMAL ARPT PROC. AT ABOUT THE 4 MI OUT POINT, I WAS 'CLRED TO LAND' IN MY SMA. AFTER NORMAL SPD REDUCTIONS FLAP EXTENSIONS, AND COMPLETION OF CHKLISTS ITEMS (IE, FUEL PUMP, LNDG LIGHT, ETC), I WAS INSIDE THE ARPT BOUNDARY, ABOUT 300 FT AGL, WHEN AN ALL-WHITE HELI APPEARED MY 2 O'CLOCK POS, PRECEDING SBOUND ACROSS THE APCH THRESHOLDS OF BOTH RWYS 29L AND 29R. ABOUT 50-100 YDS SEPARATE US. I INCREASED MY DSCNT RATE SLIGHTLY, AND PRECEDED TO A NORMAL LNDG. AFTER TURNING ON TO THE HIGH SPD TAXIWAY OFF 29L, AND INQUIRED TO THE TWR (124.00) ABOUT WHERE THE HELI CAME FROM (THERE WAS NO ATC CONVERSATION TO THE HELI ON 124.0). ATC RESPONSE WAS THAT IT WAS 'PLT ERROR' ON THE HELI PART, AND THAT HE WAS CLRED TO THE N PAD, WHICH IS ADJACENT N OF RWY 29R. THE HELI WAS ACTUALLY FLYING TO THE S PAD, LOCATED ON THE L SIDE OF RWY 29L. THE N PAD AND RWY 29R WAS UTILIZING A DIFFERENT ATC FREQ OF 135.6.
