Narrative:
My position on flight was first officer. Flight was cle to bos, last leg of 13:33 scheduled duty day. I cannot remember exact clearance from ground but believe we were cleared to runway 23R to hold short of 28 on 23L. Construction was in progress and runway and taxi markings are not visible. It was raining at the time with 1 1/2 mi visibility. While I was getting weights from the ACARS, the tower controller had an aircraft on final go around. I asked if there was a problem and he said to cross 23R and hold at runway 28. Captain and I were not clear as to what he wanted and I asked 3 more times. Finally he said to hold on 28 then cleared us for takeoff. I asked if there was a problem. He said not now, just takeoff. Captain called after flight and was told there was no problem. I think both captain and controller may have made mistakes. Controller was not clear. Airport is unsafe with 3 runways intersecting. Poor lighting and markings. Captain was in rush to get home and also has wife in hospital, may have a lot on his mind. Also, we were on a 13:33 hour scheduled duty day.

Title: POSSIBLE RWY INCURSION DUE TO POS OF HOLD LINES NOT ALLOWING ACFT TO CLR RWY.
Narrative: MY POS ON FLT WAS FO. FLT WAS CLE TO BOS, LAST LEG OF 13:33 SCHEDULED DUTY DAY. I CANNOT REMEMBER EXACT CLRNC FROM GND BUT BELIEVE WE WERE CLRED TO RWY 23R TO HOLD SHORT OF 28 ON 23L. CONSTRUCTION WAS IN PROGRESS AND RWY AND TAXI MARKINGS ARE NOT VISIBLE. IT WAS RAINING AT THE TIME WITH 1 1/2 MI VISIBILITY. WHILE I WAS GETTING WTS FROM THE ACARS, THE TWR CTLR HAD AN ACFT ON FINAL GAR. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND HE SAID TO CROSS 23R AND HOLD AT RWY 28. CAPT AND I WERE NOT CLR AS TO WHAT HE WANTED AND I ASKED 3 MORE TIMES. FINALLY HE SAID TO HOLD ON 28 THEN CLRED US FOR TKOF. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM. HE SAID NOT NOW, JUST TKOF. CAPT CALLED AFTER FLT AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. I THINK BOTH CAPT AND CTLR MAY HAVE MADE MISTAKES. CTLR WAS NOT CLR. ARPT IS UNSAFE WITH 3 RWYS INTERSECTING. POOR LIGHTING AND MARKINGS. CAPT WAS IN RUSH TO GET HOME AND ALSO HAS WIFE IN HOSPITAL, MAY HAVE A LOT ON HIS MIND. ALSO, WE WERE ON A 13:33 HR SCHEDULED DUTY DAY.
