Narrative:
We received TCASII RA climb at 2000 FPM. Stopped climb at FL295 when clear of conflict. Descended immediately to FL290. Center controller on 133.72 was very annoyed we had climbed even though I told him we had a TCASII alert. He seemed to think that since he had warned us of traffic 2-3 mins earlier we shouldn't have climbed. It seemed he was unaware of company procedure to have to follow a TCASII RA. They need to be more aware of what our requirements are when we get a TCASII alert RA.
