Air carrier X departed runway 36L at tampa. ARTS data block acquired normally. Did not put into handoff status yet, still on a 'west' tag. Data block went into 'CST' 4 mi north of tampa. Data block then went to 'coast list' when primary target was 6 mi north of tampa. Data block reacquired on target 8 mi north of tampa.
