Narrative:
I was PF cleared civet 3 profile 25L lax. The captain had his own opinion about how the MCP was to be run. Our company has strict protocol for setting the cleared altitude (this is done by PNF) also when the PF is hand flying the PNF is to set headings, courses, altitudes and type the FMC. Well the captain didn't want to perform these duties when I was hand flying. We were given a 40 KT speed reduction and descent clearance at the same time. This is tough to do in a widebody transport so out came spoilers, throttles, idle and smooth pushover. I was so busy watching what he was/was not doing I crossed arnes about 320 ft high. The rest of the flight was uneventful. No near miss occurred. The controller said nothing. Most new capts are willing to learn but this captain didn't seem to. He was an ex-line check airman. On the medium large transport, the lca has a tough job and usually over compensates for new pilots. He was the opposite of this. When we parked the aircraft I asked him about his performance of duties. He was arrogant and defensive. We had a talk with our flight manager. The situations are being reviewed by management.

Title: ACR MISSES XING RESTRICTION ON DSCNT.
Narrative: I WAS PF CLRED CIVET 3 PROFILE 25L LAX. THE CAPT HAD HIS OWN OPINION ABOUT HOW THE MCP WAS TO BE RUN. OUR COMPANY HAS STRICT PROTOCOL FOR SETTING THE CLRED ALT (THIS IS DONE BY PNF) ALSO WHEN THE PF IS HAND FLYING THE PNF IS TO SET HDGS, COURSES, ALTS AND TYPE THE FMC. WELL THE CAPT DIDN'T WANT TO PERFORM THESE DUTIES WHEN I WAS HAND FLYING. WE WERE GIVEN A 40 KT SPD REDUCTION AND DSCNT CLRNC AT THE SAME TIME. THIS IS TOUGH TO DO IN A WDB SO OUT CAME SPOILERS, THROTTLES, IDLE AND SMOOTH PUSHOVER. I WAS SO BUSY WATCHING WHAT HE WAS/WAS NOT DOING I CROSSED ARNES ABOUT 320 FT HIGH. THE REST OF THE FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL. NO NEAR MISS OCCURRED. THE CTLR SAID NOTHING. MOST NEW CAPTS ARE WILLING TO LEARN BUT THIS CAPT DIDN'T SEEM TO. HE WAS AN EX-LINE CHK AIRMAN. ON THE MLG, THE LCA HAS A TOUGH JOB AND USUALLY OVER COMPENSATES FOR NEW PLTS. HE WAS THE OPPOSITE OF THIS. WHEN WE PARKED THE ACFT I ASKED HIM ABOUT HIS PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES. HE WAS ARROGANT AND DEFENSIVE. WE HAD A TALK WITH OUR FLT MGR. THE SITUATIONS ARE BEING REVIEWED BY MGMNT.
