Narrative:

On dec/sun/92 while operating as first officer on air carrier flight from jac- den. Just prior to departure we received a company teletype message that we were to proceed to cpr and pick up approximately 75 passenger that were stranded by an affiliated commuter airline. Shortly after that, we were redispatched to den via cpr. We agreed the flight could be conducted safely, and proceeded to cpr. Later we found that cpr is an alternate airport only, and we could not take on passenger or cargo there. Air carrier should remove all such provisions from the operations specifications allowing normal scheduled operation to any suitable part 121 certified air carrier airport at any time.
