Narrative:

Aircraft #2 was an medium large transport business jet in closed traffic at an uncontrolled airport. The incident was a near miss at the medium large transport's turn from crosswind to downwind. The business jet's turn was slightly wide and high. Radio calls were not heard until the aircraft was on final approach. Aircraft #1 was at cruise altitude of approximately 1400 ft and approximately 4 NM from the uncontrolled airport. Evasive maneuver was necessary to prevent collision. The small transport helicopter windshield doorpost did partially obstruct the pilot's view. To prevent future occurrences: emphasize radio position xmissions for departing and arriving aircraft in and near the traffic pattern. Emphasize or modify radio procedures for cruise aircraft operations near uncontrolled airfields.

Title: AN SMT HELI AND AN MLG CPR JET HAD AN NMAC IN THE PATTERN AT AN UNCTLED ARPT.

Narrative: ACFT #2 WAS AN MLG BUSINESS JET IN CLOSED TFC AT AN UNCTLED ARPT. THE INCIDENT WAS A NEAR MISS AT THE MLG'S TURN FROM XWIND TO DOWNWIND. THE BUSINESS JET'S TURN WAS SLIGHTLY WIDE AND HIGH. RADIO CALLS WERE NOT HEARD UNTIL THE ACFT WAS ON FINAL APCH. ACFT #1 WAS AT CRUISE ALT OF APPROXIMATELY 1400 FT AND APPROXIMATELY 4 NM FROM THE UNCTLED ARPT. EVASIVE MANEUVER WAS NECESSARY TO PREVENT COLLISION. THE SMT HELI WINDSHIELD DOORPOST DID PARTIALLY OBSTRUCT THE PLT'S VIEW. TO PREVENT FUTURE OCCURRENCES: EMPHASIZE RADIO POS XMISSIONS FOR DEPARTING AND ARRIVING ACFT IN AND NEAR THE TFC PATTERN. EMPHASIZE OR MODIFY RADIO PROCS FOR CRUISE ACFT OPS NEAR UNCTLED AIRFIELDS.
