Narrative:
I filed an international flight plan in minneapolis from fcm to la romana, dominican republic. The most direct route was from fcm-chs along R-743 to la romana. While on R-743, I communicated to ny oceanic through another aircraft. Once I reached grand turk, the new center advised that ny oceanic was filing a report. I realize now that I should have had an HF radio on board to fly in that airspace.
