Narrative:
Air carrier X cleared to land on runway 21C at dtw in an large transport. Small aircraft Y was cleared to land on runway 21L but proceeded to line up and turn final on runway 21C. I saw small aircraft Y when we were 1/4 mi from runway 21C, at slightly above and abeam (left) of us in its final turn, belly toward us. Small aircraft Y passed behind us by about 300 ft. Small aircraft Y realized its mistake and went around.
