Narrative:
I had established communication 30 mi out. I received vectors and altitude restrictions and acknowledged. I was told to expect runway 23. I was later told to report having runway 23 in sight. When I reported having runway 23 in sight, I received no reply. I reported having runway 23 in sight again and received no response. I then broadcast from my other communication the same and received no response. I then turned the squelch all the way up and had no static. I then checked the VOR needles. Both were working. This meant I had power. I was probably broadcasting. I turned the transponder to 7600 to indicate I had lost communications. I then broadcast I had lost communications and asked for a light signal. I rebroadcast the same and received no light signal. I aborted my approach and circled to the left staying out of the traffic pattern of the main runway. Got back on approach and asked for a light signal again and received none. Aborted approach and circled again. Got in line with runway 23 again and received a green light and landed.

Title: LOST COM PROC USED WHEN SMA PLT UNABLE TO ESTABLISH RADIO CONTACT WITH TWR.
Narrative: I HAD ESTABLISHED COM 30 MI OUT. I RECEIVED VECTORS AND ALT RESTRICTIONS AND ACKNOWLEDGED. I WAS TOLD TO EXPECT RWY 23. I WAS LATER TOLD TO RPT HAVING RWY 23 IN SIGHT. WHEN I RPTED HAVING RWY 23 IN SIGHT, I RECEIVED NO REPLY. I RPTED HAVING RWY 23 IN SIGHT AGAIN AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. I THEN BROADCAST FROM MY OTHER COM THE SAME AND RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. I THEN TURNED THE SQUELCH ALL THE WAY UP AND HAD NO STATIC. I THEN CHKED THE VOR NEEDLES. BOTH WERE WORKING. THIS MEANT I HAD PWR. I WAS PROBABLY BROADCASTING. I TURNED THE XPONDER TO 7600 TO INDICATE I HAD LOST COMS. I THEN BROADCAST I HAD LOST COMS AND ASKED FOR A LIGHT SIGNAL. I REBROADCAST THE SAME AND RECEIVED NO LIGHT SIGNAL. I ABORTED MY APCH AND CIRCLED TO THE L STAYING OUT OF THE TFC PATTERN OF THE MAIN RWY. GOT BACK ON APCH AND ASKED FOR A LIGHT SIGNAL AGAIN AND RECEIVED NONE. ABORTED APCH AND CIRCLED AGAIN. GOT IN LINE WITH RWY 23 AGAIN AND RECEIVED A GREEN LIGHT AND LANDED.
