Narrative:
Landing runway 8, completely landed, taxiing to taxiway. Suddenly, 'compact' thermal picked up aircraft 50 ft and dropped the aircraft 30-40 ft off runway. Added full power on aircraft, left nose level, and tried to level wings. Both wings were in a full stall. Landed fully stalled with main gear and right wing tip. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the aircraft was totally picked up in the air and dropped suddenly without warning causing the aircraft to fall off of the side of the runway/taxiway and damage the right wing tip only. The FAA investigated and declared it an incident only.

CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT THE ACFT WAS TOTALLY PICKED UP IN THE AIR AND DROPPED SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING THE ACFT TO FALL OFF OF THE SIDE OF THE RWY/TXWY AND DAMAGE THE R WING TIP ONLY.
