Narrative:
Pushed back from gate expecting off gate hold due to ord WX. Got released for ord and taxied to approach end of runway 27 at san. WX hold reapplied. Shut down engines to wait. After 30 mins, re-released for ord. Unable to restart left engine due to isolation bleed valve problem. Requested taxi to gate for maintenance assist. Back taxied to gate after giving way to other air carrier large transport in hold short area. Informed later of damage to automobiles in observation area adjacent to taxiway near approach end of runway 27 at san. Had no indication of problems prior to notification.
