While continuing to chicago and further discussion with mht tower and visual inspection of landing gear viewpoint we determined that the right inboard wheel was missing. Diverted to cle account WX in ord less than 3 mi, rain showers and fog. Landing was uneventful. Note: taxi out, takeoff roll was normal. If the tower had not reported the loss of the wheel we would not have realized the problem!
