Narrative:

The wichita falls (sps) high sector airspace dimensions are approximately 100 mi by 200 mi. The frequency (single site) range is hardly adequate. Therefore, a remote site is utilized. This remote site had been released for maintenance making full coverage impossible. On jun/wed/93, around XX30 local, the remote frequency site was reported 'repaired' and returned for ATC purposes. (This happens to be a very busy and complex traffic period and the remote frequency site was needed.) immediately after the frequencys were returned, many pilots reported that ATC xmissions were 'breaking up,' 'unreadable,' 'blocked,' or completely 'cut out.' these frequencys have been reported as unacceptable for some time. I strongly feel that if we continue to work with this inadequate and unacceptable equipment (and the agency refuses to reduce the workload and/or complexity) a series of fatal events are inevitable.

Title: CTLR CLAIMS THAT FREQS AT SECTOR ARE VERY POOR QUALITY AND UNUSABLE DURING VARIOUS TIMES.

THIS REMOTE SITE HAD BEEN RELEASED FOR MAINT MAKING FULL COVERAGE IMPOSSIBLE. ON JUN/WED/93, AROUND XX30 LCL, THE REMOTE FREQ SITE WAS RPTED 'REPAIRED' AND RETURNED FOR ATC PURPOSES.
