Narrative:
When cleared to taxi into position and hold on runway 24L at lax. The nose baggage door opened and a carry on bag fell out and nicked the propeller. This event went undetected until the plane landed in palmdale and we noticed the bag missing and a nick in the propeller. Normal procedure is for the ramper to check and secure the door and for the copilot to double-check it before departure. In our case, neither the ramper nor the copilot noticed a broken latch when checking the door. I cannot speak for the ramper but I know the copilot and I had flown together subsequent to the accident and we were both tired from having flown numerous days in a row with multiple lndgs in adverse WX over unfamiliar rtes.
