Narrative:
While deviating around thunderstorms on arrival, experienced a TCASII RA requiring a climb. We complied with the TCASII advisory and began a climb. ZMA reported a target ahead at 6800 ft (VFR). TCASII reported 'clear of conflict' at approximately 7800 ft. We then promptly returned to assigned altitude of 7000 ft. The traffic causing the advisory was not located visually.

Title: ALTDEV ALT EXCURSION DUE TO TCASII RA.
Narrative: WHILE DEVIATING AROUND TSTMS ON ARR, EXPERIENCED A TCASII RA REQUIRING A CLB. WE COMPLIED WITH THE TCASII ADVISORY AND BEGAN A CLB. ZMA RPTED A TARGET AHEAD AT 6800 FT (VFR). TCASII RPTED 'CLR OF CONFLICT' AT APPROX 7800 FT. WE THEN PROMPTLY RETURNED TO ASSIGNED ALT OF 7000 FT. THE TFC CAUSING THE ADVISORY WAS NOT LOCATED VISUALLY.
