Narrative:
In sum: a foreign student pilot departed vny to fly in the newhall area. His alternator light came on causing great concern. He attempted to contact FSS and navigation to pmd with no success. L71 unicom answered his call for help. The reporter landed and found himself at edw north field. The operations officer said that the aircraft must be completely repaired before it could depart. He was treated well.

Title: A FOREIGN SPI GOT LOST AFTER HIS ALTERNATOR FAILED. HE LANDED AT EDW.
Narrative: IN SUM: A FOREIGN STUDENT PLT DEPARTED VNY TO FLY IN THE NEWHALL AREA. HIS ALTERNATOR LIGHT CAME ON CAUSING GREAT CONCERN. HE ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT FSS AND NAV TO PMD WITH NO SUCCESS. L71 UNICOM ANSWERED HIS CALL FOR HELP. THE RPTR LANDED AND FOUND HIMSELF AT EDW NORTH FIELD. THE OPS OFFICER SAID THAT THE ACFT MUST BE COMPLETELY REPAIRED BEFORE IT COULD DEPART. HE WAS TREATED WELL.
