Narrative:
The flight was en route from jfk to position. The flight contacted me via datalink to advise that they had accepted a rerte along A632. A632 is not suitable for the widebody transport aircraft because it takes the flight more than 60 mins from an adequate airport. I attempted to contact the flight via datalink but was not successful. I called new york oceanic and requested that they route the flight from overhead bda along G432 to the grann intersection then A312. I contacted the flight through new york arinc and advised the crew of the rerte onto G432 and the reason for it. Supplemental information from acn 246602: ZNY advised us that our filed altitude would not be available unless we changed our routing to 'the ATC preferred route.' they offered us FL250 on the original route or FL330 on 'the preferred route.' we accepted the new routing based on the fuel burn to our destination. As soon as we accepted the new clearance we advised our dispatcher so that he could figure the new winds and fuel burn. At no time did we fly in violation, however, we accepted an illegal clearance. New york should not offer an unacceptable route and should be aware of this limitation.

Title: DISPATCH RPT REGARDING FLC ACCEPTANCE OF OCEANIC RTE WHICH WAS NOT LEGAL.
Narrative: THE FLT WAS ENRTE FROM JFK TO POS. THE FLT CONTACTED ME VIA DATALINK TO ADVISE THAT THEY HAD ACCEPTED A RERTE ALONG A632. A632 IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE WDB ACFT BECAUSE IT TAKES THE FLT MORE THAN 60 MINS FROM AN ADEQUATE ARPT. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE FLT VIA DATALINK BUT WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL. I CALLED NEW YORK OCEANIC AND REQUESTED THAT THEY RTE THE FLT FROM OVERHEAD BDA ALONG G432 TO THE GRANN INTXN THEN A312. I CONTACTED THE FLT THROUGH NEW YORK ARINC AND ADVISED THE CREW OF THE RERTE ONTO G432 AND THE REASON FOR IT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 246602: ZNY ADVISED US THAT OUR FILED ALT WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNLESS WE CHANGED OUR ROUTING TO 'THE ATC PREFERRED RTE.' THEY OFFERED US FL250 ON THE ORIGINAL RTE OR FL330 ON 'THE PREFERRED RTE.' WE ACCEPTED THE NEW ROUTING BASED ON THE FUEL BURN TO OUR DEST. AS SOON AS WE ACCEPTED THE NEW CLRNC WE ADVISED OUR DISPATCHER SO THAT HE COULD FIGURE THE NEW WINDS AND FUEL BURN. AT NO TIME DID WE FLY IN VIOLATION, HOWEVER, WE ACCEPTED AN ILLEGAL CLRNC. NEW YORK SHOULD NOT OFFER AN UNACCEPTABLE RTE AND SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS LIMITATION.
