Narrative:
Upon arrival at hub, after all but 2 passenger had deplaned, I phoned operations to check on the needed wheelchairs and was advised that our air carrier aircraft had been reported by an FAA inspector to have both overwing exits blocked by protruding seat bottom cushions and that maintenance was required. I learned the next day this report by the FAA was received by our company before we ever accepted this aircraft for flight. We were not made aware of, and did not discover the reported discrepancy, until the phone contact by me to operations after landing. Why was this aircraft problem not brought to my attention as soon as possible by my company? Why did the FAA inspector not report the problem to the captain at the time of observation so this problem could be entered in the log and resolved as soon as possible? This problem was evident on the next late model medium large transport (only worse) and was brought to maintenance attention as soon as possible, as we prepared to fly the next morning. Does this condition exist on all late model mlgs?

Title: CAPT OF AN MLG ACR ACFT COMPLAINT OF NOT BEING NOTIFIED THAT AN FAA INSPECTOR'S RPT OF BLOCKED WING EXITS HAD NOT BEEN RPTED TO HIM BY DISPATCH OR THE ACFT LOG RECORD.
Narrative: UPON ARR AT HUB, AFTER ALL BUT 2 PAX HAD DEPLANED, I PHONED OPS TO CHK ON THE NEEDED WHEELCHAIRS AND WAS ADVISED THAT OUR ACR ACFT HAD BEEN RPTED BY AN FAA INSPECTOR TO HAVE BOTH OVERWING EXITS BLOCKED BY PROTRUDING SEAT BOTTOM CUSHIONS AND THAT MAINT WAS REQUIRED. WE WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF, AND DID NOT DISCOVER THE RPTED DISCREPANCY, UNTIL THE PHONE CONTACT BY ME TO OPS AFTER LNDG. WHY WAS THIS ACFT PROB NOT BROUGHT TO MY ATTN ASAP BY MY COMPANY? WHY DID THE FAA INSPECTOR NOT RPT THE PROB TO THE CAPT AT THE TIME OF OBSERVATION SO THIS PROB COULD BE ENTERED IN THE LOG AND RESOLVED ASAP? THIS PROB WAS EVIDENT ON THE NEXT LATE MODEL MLG (ONLY WORSE) AND WAS BROUGHT TO MAINT ATTN ASAP, AS WE PREPARED TO FLY THE NEXT MORNING. DOES THIS CONDITION EXIST ON ALL LATE MODEL MLGS?
