Narrative:
During a left base to runway 18L, our TCASII alerted us to a potential conflict. We sighted small transport high and to our right, converging with our flight path. We continued our approach to runway 18L with no overshoot from the extended centerline of runway 18L. Upon realizing that the small transport was indeed lining up to land on our runway, we broke out of the pattern to the left (east). After circling, our landing was uneventful. After our breakout, the small transport acknowledged that he was cleared to land on runway 18L. He had actually been cleared to land runway 18R. It is always to our best interest to keep our heads up and fly defensively.

Title: ACR MAKES GAR AS SMT LINES UP FOR SAME RWY. TCASII ALERT.
Narrative: DURING A L BASE TO RWY 18L, OUR TCASII ALERTED US TO A POTENTIAL CONFLICT. WE SIGHTED SMT HIGH AND TO OUR R, CONVERGING WITH OUR FLT PATH. WE CONTINUED OUR APCH TO RWY 18L WITH NO OVERSHOOT FROM THE EXTENDED CTRLINE OF RWY 18L. UPON REALIZING THAT THE SMT WAS INDEED LINING UP TO LAND ON OUR RWY, WE BROKE OUT OF THE PATTERN TO THE L (E). AFTER CIRCLING, OUR LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. AFTER OUR BREAKOUT, THE SMT ACKNOWLEDGED THAT HE WAS CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 18L. HE HAD ACTUALLY BEEN CLRED TO LAND RWY 18R. IT IS ALWAYS TO OUR BEST INTEREST TO KEEP OUR HEADS UP AND FLY DEFENSIVELY.
