Narrative:

In sum: an air carrier widebody transport lost a recap off of one of its 18 tires at msp. The aircraft may have dropped a couple of pieces of fiberglass trim on lake street. Departure control informed the flight crew of the tire tread and fiberglass parts falling. The aircraft informed its maintenance and dispatch. The aircraft was sent on to its destination, london gatwick. The flight crew called out the emergency equipment and landed without problem. 2 holes were found in fiberglass trim and a landing gear door seal was missing. There was a dent in the horizontal tail leading edge. All 3 crew members state that they wish that they had dumped fuel and returned to land at msp. There was some confusion as to whether their aircraft had dropped the parts as another company air carrier had dropped something about the same time.
