Narrative:

I was nine cruise flight at 6500 MSL en route from bid to dxr just northeast of new haven, ct when I caught a glimpse of a commuter airplane descending right into me off my right side. I did not look as if the commuter was going to alter his flight path, which leads me to believe he was not looking out his window. Being equipped with mode C, I should have showed up on someone's radar, and, if the commuter was IFR, he should have been alerted to my presence. At the time of the event, I was talking to flight watch, therefore, I was not able to get any TA's. I don't know what can be done about these types of sits, but if I had not taken evasive action, I don't think I'd be filing this report.
