Narrative:

Practicing takeoff and landing. Second landing at hartford made gear up. First landing uneventful and full stop. After takeoff flaps up, gear up, power reduced, RPM reduced. Downwind 1000 ft AGL lined up properly. End of runway reduced power, full rich, electric fuel pump on, propeller maximum RPM gump (forgot undercarriage). Plane did not seem to drop altitude as it should. Applied 1/2 flaps and reduced power more. I tended to fixate on slowing the aircraft by reducing power and applying flaps rather than repeating my regimen of gump - - gas, undercarriage, mixture, and propeller on base leg and again on final. Most of final was made at full idle feeling I had a perfect landing lined up until I flared and scraped. I feel it would be good at biennial flight review to stress that, if it feels different for any reason, go around and try it again. There is probably something wrong. I was wearing headphones and it would be good to have gear horn louder or hooked into speaker and headphones

Title: PVT PLT MAKES GEAR UP LNDG AT NON TWR ARPT DURING PRACTICE SESSION.

Narrative: PRACTICING TKOF AND LNDG. SECOND LNDG AT HARTFORD MADE GEAR UP. FIRST LNDG UNEVENTFUL AND FULL STOP. AFTER TKOF FLAPS UP, GEAR UP, PWR REDUCED, RPM REDUCED. DOWNWIND 1000 FT AGL LINED UP PROPERLY. END OF RWY REDUCED PWR, FULL RICH, ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP ON, PROP MAX RPM GUMP (FORGOT UNDERCARRIAGE). PLANE DID NOT SEEM TO DROP ALT AS IT SHOULD. APPLIED 1/2 FLAPS AND REDUCED PWR MORE. I TENDED TO FIXATE ON SLOWING THE ACFT BY REDUCING PWR AND APPLYING FLAPS RATHER THAN REPEATING MY REGIMEN OF GUMP - - GAS, UNDERCARRIAGE, MIXTURE, AND PROP ON BASE LEG AND AGAIN ON FINAL. MOST OF FINAL WAS MADE AT FULL IDLE FEELING I HAD A PERFECT LNDG LINED UP UNTIL I FLARED AND SCRAPED. I FEEL IT WOULD BE GOOD AT BIENNIAL FLT REVIEW TO STRESS THAT, IF IT FEELS DIFFERENT FOR ANY REASON, GAR AND TRY IT AGAIN. THERE IS PROBABLY SOMETHING WRONG.
