Narrative:

Contact with flat roof on vacant building. Descent to landing behind vacant school, vented a little early. Flight was in congested area. If flight path 2 ft higher would not have made contact. Incident was due to pilot judgement, have set up plan to practice approach and lndgs at least once a week for 4 weeks, simulated tight lndgs. Also to be more aware of the area. This is the only property contact in 4 yrs of ballooning.

Narrative: CONTACT WITH FLAT ROOF ON VACANT BUILDING. DSCNT TO LNDG BEHIND VACANT SCHOOL, VENTED A LITTLE EARLY. FLT WAS IN CONGESTED AREA. IF FLT PATH 2 FT HIGHER WOULD NOT HAVE MADE CONTACT. INCIDENT WAS DUE TO PLT JUDGEMENT, HAVE SET UP PLAN TO PRACTICE APCH AND LNDGS AT LEAST ONCE A WK FOR 4 WKS, SIMULATED TIGHT LNDGS. ALSO TO BE MORE AWARE OF THE AREA. THIS IS THE ONLY PROPERTY CONTACT IN 4 YRS OF BALLOONING.
