Narrative:

On preparation for takeoff at sfo, our planned clearance was the shore departure, which involves an immediate right turn after takeoff. Upon receiving our clearance (via pre departure clearance) both the captain and I failed to notice the departure change to sfo 6, which involves a straight out climb out. While in our right turn after takeoff, tower gave us a vector back on course. Factors: when the pre departure clearance arrived at the cockpit, I was in the bathroom. Normally, the first officer does most of the pre departure clearance work -- all I can think of is this got us out of our normal way of working the pre departure clearance. A lesson was learned.
