Narrative:
While taxiing for takeoff, flight attendant was standing in aisle facing rearward doing seat belt demonstration. Visibility was poor due to darkness and fog and I noticed we had just gone past our turn point, so I applied brakes to stop and get new taxi clearance. Brakes grabbed more than I anticipated and flight attendant fell. I immediately asked how she was and she said she wanted to continue on to our destination which was bna. En route to bna she said her arm hurt and she wanted to be removed from the trip at bna. Aircraft was met by flight attendant supervisor and paramedics who took her to be examined and x-rayed. Examination and x-rays showed nothing amiss except a bruised arm. Better attention to taxi route or braking technique might have prevented this particular mishap, but there still are numerous other reasons why brakes might be firmly applied during taxi. At that particular moment, with flight attendant standing, facing rearward, and not hanging on to anything, she was particularly vulnerable. Formulating procedures to have flight attendants complete their duties while aircraft is stopped and be seated during taxi could prevent future such mishaps.

Title: CABIN ATTENDANT STANDING IN AISLE DURING TAXI FALLS WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED SUDDENLY.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING FOR TKOF, FLT ATTENDANT WAS STANDING IN AISLE FACING REARWARD DOING SEAT BELT DEMONSTRATION. VISIBILITY WAS POOR DUE TO DARKNESS AND FOG AND I NOTICED WE HAD JUST GONE PAST OUR TURN POINT, SO I APPLIED BRAKES TO STOP AND GET NEW TAXI CLRNC. ENRTE TO BNA SHE SAID HER ARM HURT AND SHE WANTED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE TRIP AT BNA. ACFT WAS MET BY FLT ATTENDANT SUPVR AND PARAMEDICS WHO TOOK HER TO BE EXAMINED AND X-RAYED. EXAM AND X-RAYS SHOWED NOTHING AMISS EXCEPT A BRUISED ARM. BETTER ATTN TO TAXI RTE OR BRAKING TECHNIQUE MIGHT HAVE PREVENTED THIS PARTICULAR MISHAP, BUT THERE STILL ARE NUMEROUS OTHER REASONS WHY BRAKES MIGHT BE FIRMLY APPLIED DURING TAXI. AT THAT PARTICULAR MOMENT, WITH FLT ATTENDANT STANDING, FACING REARWARD, AND NOT HANGING ON TO ANYTHING, SHE WAS PARTICULARLY VULNERABLE. FORMULATING PROCS TO HAVE FLT ATTENDANTS COMPLETE THEIR DUTIES WHILE ACFT IS STOPPED AND BE SEATED DURING TAXI COULD PREVENT FUTURE SUCH MISHAPS.
